Teams have started signing up! It's not even fall yet and we have several teams with robots built, ready to roll.
Our first competition of the season will be a Bank Shot Preview Scrimmage in Rancho Santa Margarita. If you have a team and robot, call 949-291-2460 to sign up, or email cheri@MATHmaniaRobotics.com. $10/team. This is a non-qualifying event, just for fun, to see what the game is all about. There will be a category for non-VEX robots, Arduino or Lego Mindstorm or ... There is also an adult category for any mentors who have some great ideas to share with all the kids. If you don't have a team yet, call me. We'll put together a team for you and give you a ClawBot to drive for the day. This is a good way to find a team for the fall.

We've had a last minute change on one of our Robotics Summer Camps. We will run a small group out of my home, 63 Windswept Way in Painted Trails.
Because we are not renting a location, we've lowered the price. We have also added some programming for our advanced or quicker students (hacking the controller, creating sounds and robot responses, and designing an autonomous robot routine). We have limited room but plenty for a couple of teams here. (Does anyone work for a company that would like to partner with us and offer their location for robotics workshops??) Let me know soon that you are coming, so that I have enough robots and laptops for everyone! A huge thanks to So Cal Edison and the Friends of Laguna Hills Technology Library for once again partnering with MATHmania Robotics to bring another fun programming class to the community! This time it was Coding for Families. Our parents came to support their kids, but before long, they were just as involved as their kids as we created video games, programmed to draw and began thinking like a computer using Blockly and Javascript.
